French startup Enchanted Tools plans to launch service robots for hospitals and shops next year, taking a different approach from competitors by focusing on revenue growth instead of cost-cutting.
The Paris-based company will showcase its latest social robot prototype at CES 2025 in Las Vegas. These robots aim to help guide hospital patients, assist retail customers, and support restaurant staff.
"Traditional robots are focused on reducing costs, while we aim to increase revenues and satisfy customers and employees," said Isabelle Blanchot, commercial director at Enchanted Tools.
The three-year-old company expects to release its first robots by May 2026 after getting required certifications. Each unit will cost about €40,000, including services.
Enchanted Tools first caught attention at CES 2023 with an earlier prototype. The company has since developed a second version.
The startup is also creating its own language models to make robot interactions more empathetic, according to Blanchot.
