Top Universities Join Forces with Hospital Robot Maker
Five leading robotics experts from Stanford, NYU, and Carnegie Mellon have joined Diligent Robotics' new AI advisory board to advance hospital robot development. The company currently operates humanoid robots in hospitals across America.
The experts will help improve Moxi, a robot that assists healthcare teams with lab work and patient care tasks.
"Diligent Robotics has been at the forefront of embodied AI for years,"
said Dr. Andrea Thomaz, CEO and Founder.
"This advisory board represents an unparalleled opportunity to bridge the gap between commercial innovation and academic research."
Stanford AI Lab's Jeannette Bohg and Dorsa Sadigh joined the board alongside Carnegie Mellon's Artur Dubrawski and Oliver Kroemer. NYU's Lerrel Pinto rounds out the team.
Each expert brings specific knowledge, from robot learning to human-robot interaction.
The board will use real-world data from working robots to advance research.
The collaboration aims to improve how robots work alongside hospital staff.
